Ricardo & Aldo’s Wedding at Campo Lago, Costa Rica
Costa Rica Wedding Photographer | Ricardo & Aldo

Ricardo & Aldo’s Wedding at Campo Lago, Costa Rica.
Some wedding days are remembered for the way everything comes together: the people who gather, the moments shared, and the feeling of being present for something meaningful.
Ricardo and Aldo’s wedding at Campo Lago, Costa Rica, was a beautiful opportunity to document all of these elements through photographs. From the anticipation of getting ready to an outdoor ceremony surrounded by family and friends, followed by an evening of celebration, their wedding unfolded through a collection of genuine moments, thoughtful details, and joyful connections.
As a destination wedding photographer, these are the stories I love to document: celebrations where the photographs reflect not only what the day looked like, but also the people who made it special.
Getting Ready: The Moments Before the CeremonyThe story began with the preparations. Final touches to the suits, details being arranged, and time spent with loved ones created a relaxed beginning to the day.I always appreciate photographing this part of a wedding because it offers a different perspective on the celebration. There is room for small interactions, spontaneous portraits, and moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed.Rather than directing every interaction, my approach is to observe what happens naturally and step in when needed. These photographs become part of a larger story, preserving the atmosphere and the people who were there from the very beginning.
A Wedding Ceremony at Campo Lago
With the guests gathered outdoors, Ricardo and Aldo’s ceremony became the central moment of the day.The setting, the rows of guests, and the ceremony arch created a beautiful backdrop, while the photographs focused on the people and interactions that brought the occasion to life. From wider views of the ceremony to closer, quieter moments between the couple, each image contributes a different perspective. For me, wedding photography is about more than creating a few beautiful portraits.
It is about documenting the full experience: the expressions, the exchanges, the presence of family and friends, and the moments that make each wedding its own.Every couple has a story worth preserving.
My role is to photograph it with care and authenticity, allowing the day to unfold while remaining attentive to the moments that matter.Thoughtful Details and a Beautiful SettingThe visual atmosphere of a wedding is often found in the details.
At Campo Lago, the ceremony setting, greenery, floral arrangements, tables, and warm evening lights helped create the backdrop for the celebration.I like to photograph these elements as part of the overall narrative, not as isolated decorations.
They help bring the memories back to life and show how the different parts of the day came together.Alongside the details, I also make time for portraits of the couple. These photographs offer a quieter pause in the day, creating images that feel intentional while still reflecting the way the two of them are together.
The goal is a balanced gallery: a combination of documentary moments, considered portraits, and the small visual details that make the celebration distinctive.
As the day moved into the evening, the atmosphere shifted from the ceremony to a lively celebration with family and friends. The reception brought together candid interactions, shared laughter, embraces, dancing, and the energy of the dance floor.
These are the moments that make documentary wedding photography especially meaningful to me. They cannot always be planned, and they rarely happen twice in exactly the same way.
I look for the connections between people as much as the main events themselves: friends enjoying the moment, guests sharing a laugh, and the couple becoming part of the celebration around them.
Photographs from the reception add movement and personality to the story.
They remind us that a wedding is not just a ceremony or a collection of portraits; it is an experience shared with the people who matter.Wedding Photography That Lets You Be YourselvesMy approach to wedding photography is simple: every couple deserves to have their day documented with care, respect, and authenticity.I work with couples from different backgrounds and with different ways of celebrating.
I do not believe a wedding needs to fit a particular formula to be meaningful. What matters is the people, their connections, and the moments that make the day theirs.I aim to create photographs that feel natural and timeless, balancing documentary coverage with elegant portraits and an editorial eye for composition and light.
I want couples to be able to enjoy their wedding rather than feel as though they are performing for the camera.
Looking back at a gallery should feel like returning to the day itself: remembering the people who were there, noticing moments you may have missed, and experiencing the atmosphere all over again.
